Amy Brown

I came into catering later in life, having spent nearly 15 years in bookselling and publishing, and now I can't imagine doing anything else. Building this company with Heidi has been unimaginably rewarding: the talented staff we've attracted, the dishes and menus we develop, and the clients we serve all make this career the best one for me. My hope is that someday my three daughters can continue the Chowgirls legacy.

Heidi Andermack

Driven by a spirit of collaboration, I co-founded Chowgirls Killer Catering with my newfound friend Amy Lynn Brown in 2004. Our shared enthusiasm for strong branding and creative expression through food and parties has evolved into growing a business that values sustainability on the plate and, equally as important, in the workplace. My personal passion is community building, devoting my energies to the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District and the Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market. Outside of work, I throw punches at Uppercut Boxing Gym and stretch my body and mind through yin yoga.

Todd Churchill

I came to Chowgirls at the beginning of 2016 and serve as CFO and Lead Strategic Planning Consultant. I have a deep passion for values driven, social businesses, especially in the local and regenerative food industry, and Chowgirls is a perfect fit. in 2015, I sold my interest in Thousand Hills Cattle Company to my highly capable long-time business partner, and am excited to be working with multiple start-ups with real social change potential that need a CFO. When I am not helping others to change the world, I enjoy riding horses, cross country skiing, and canoeing with my family.

I joined Chowgirls in 2015 and could not be more thrilled to be a part of this team! I feel honored and privileged to work with such a caring, talented, and hard-working group of people. We all share a passion for enjoying excellent food with amazing company. What more could you ask for! I look forward to growing and working together in the years to come to make Chowgirls the best it can be. When I’m not busy with the hustle and bustle of catering, I enjoy spending time with my four nieces and nephews, checking out new restaurants, and going to concerts.

Maryjo Vickers

Hello! I started at Chowgirls in 2013 and been loving every minute of it. I started as the Office Manager and excelled quickly to take over Accounting and now am the Director of Administration. I jokingly call myself the Coordinator of Chaos! Chowgirls is a family and I love that - we work hard and play hard! In my free-time I love a good book, glass of wine, and snuggles with my doggies.

Maari Cedar James

I started cooking mini quiche in Amy Brown's kitchen in 2006, leaving culinary school to help shape what has now become my home away from home. Thousands of weddings and events later, now I have a dream job planning and ideating our events. When I'm not talking to clients or meddling in someone's business here at Chowgirls, I'm home with three smart and talented girls of my own, making food, drinking wine, reading books and weeding my new NE Minneapolis garden.

Arianna Baker-Kern

I’ve been cooking for Chowgirls since 2010, so this kitchen is like my second home. I love the freedom this job gives me and the family atmosphere we nurture. When I’m not in the kitchen, I enjoy drinking beer with my bearded life partner, Ryan, watching movies, reading, hosting a houseful of friends, or just relaxing on my porch.

I started working in hospitality twenty years ago and have never thought of doing anything else. I love to cook for others and making others feel special, especially my two kids. I appreciate the creativity in cooking and the endless opportunity of discovery. I love working for Chowgirls and being part of this awesome community of people. When not in the kitchen at Chowgirls, I am hanging out with my family, spending time with friends and painting at home.

I’ve been working at Chowgirls for two years. I love making French Macarons, playing with recipes, and trying new things. I love the sense of family that we foster at Chowgirls, it’s nice to know that your co-workers have your back. When I’m not working, which is almost never, I love binge watching Netflix and exercising, like a lady.

Tony Perella

Tony wants to live in a world where you can have fun at your job, enjoy time with your friends and family and have a general balance of getting good work done, maintaining positive physical and mental health and still find the time to party like a rockstar. As Operations Manager, he’s excited to take his past experiences building efficient and practical systems that help everyone do their job better and find comfort in the teamwork and support that enhance the daily grind and make your job a fun place to work while growing the business. When he’s not working, you can find him generally in his backyard entertaining friends, playing with his pups and enjoying time with his lovely fiance, Chuck, at their home in South Minneapolis.

Sol Huddleston

I fell in love with the bar before I ever set foot behind one. The fast pace, multi-tasking, ever-changing environment just clicked with me. I quickly learned that drink making was a great outlet for creativity. I am excited about the emerging local spirit renaissance underway in Minnesota and happy to bring everything I’ve learned to Chowgirls. When I’m not working, I’m enjoying a cold beer or having a cocktail at one of the many great bars around the Twin Cities.

Erika Friesen

Restaurants, catering and events have been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. Starting from my mother’s and grandmothers’ kitchens I have worked in family restaurants, a B & B in England, banquet caterers and a monastery; as well as running my own catering gigs and large community gatherings. I actually have a hard time cooking for less than 50! I love nothing as much as a challenge and trying something new. When I am not at work I am either in someone else’s kitchen, singing with one of two local choirs I am a member of or enjoying a rare quiet moment.

I've been playing with paint, planting gardens, creating floral, cooking and styling food for over 25 years! A creative whirlwind, my passions mesh perfectly with my role at Chowgirls. I push to use my energy and vision to create and style events that are beautiful, original, and unique to our clients’ needs. I don't sit down much, but when I do, I'm drinking good coffee, eating dim sum, or trying on a great pair of shoes.

I’ve been working in the event and catering industry for the past six years and am thrilled to have joined the Chowgirls team in 2015. As a farmer’s daughter I am proud to be working for a company that values local, organic and seasonal food. I love being a first point of contact for our clients and learning about the events they are planning. It’s fun to see these events come to fruition as they work with our creative Event Specialists. When I’m not at the HQ front desk I love reading, crafting and going on adventures with my husband and baby daughter.

In 2012, I called a friend to inquire about a job. And POOF, here I am working with people who inspire me everyday. I’ve explored many facets of the event business over the last 12 years, progressing into present day me. It’s the comradery of executing events as a team and seeing the guests’ vision through in real time and space that really tickles me. When I’m not surrounded by my Chow peoples, you’ll most likely find me in a troublingly deep conversation with my dog Bowser, sneaking in QT with any member of my enormous family, or bantering with my handsome hubby.

I stumbled upon an events internship in college, and as the saying goes, the rest it history! Seven years later my home is now Solar Arts by Chowgirls; I couldn’t be happier to be part of such an amazing team! I love meeting with clients, helping plan their event down to the very last detail. It’s so rewarding to watch someone’s vision come to life. Outside my life at Chowgirls, you can find me with cooking with my husband, hanging out with our pups or tending to my NE garden.

My very first job was banquet serving and I never looked back. One college degree and thousands of events later I’m still inspired every day. I love connecting with each unique client to bring their vision to life and help them enjoy the planning process in the meantime! I am thrilled to be a part of the incredible Chowgirls team and when I’m not at Solar Arts you’ll find me at the yoga studio or sipping wine, hanging out with my husband and our crazy dog in our NE Mpls home.

Meghan Larsen

Hi there! I was introduced to Chowgirls in early 2010 and was ecstatic to be hired on that Spring. I have loved being part of an amazing community of creatives who are dedicated to making our events and food so phenomenal. In 2014 I became a Certified Cicerone ® (the beer world's version of a wine Sommelier), which has been so fun to focus some of my events around beer! When I am not at Chowgirls I enjoy long road trips with my family and short camping adventures around Minneasota state parks. We spend a good amount of our time cooking, explaining the world to our 4-year-old, brewing and drinking good beer, and gardening at our home in St. Paul.

Hello! I became a part of the Chowgirls family in 2008 while also working in social services, and moved into my Event Specialist position in 2010. Being able to execute my clients’ visions for their special life events has been so rewarding, and I’m lucky to work with such an amazing team of creative, smart, and incredibly talented people who put so much heart into what we do at Chowgirls. Outside of work, I enjoy getting lost in a good book, putzing in my community garden, making master plans with my partner in crime, Harold, and being as silly as possible with our 4-year-old daughter, Amelia.

I began my catering journey years ago in Arizona and Las Vegas but could not be more thrilled to be back in Minnesota enjoying life. I am thankful to have the opportunity to work with such a talented team that are so passionate about creating the perfect event for every client. When I am not busy creating events, I love wine tasting, happy hours sampling new fun menu selections, and spending time with my partner, Ryan, and our amazing kids.

Hello! I joined the Chowgirls team in 2016 and am so excited to be working with such a talented and passionate group of people. I have been in the service industry for over 8 years but everything changed when I was introduced to event planning in 2014 - I found a career that I love! I am honored to share in the experience and planning some of the most important days and events in our clients’ lives. When away from Chowgirls, I spend my free time kickboxing, enjoying a glass of Chianti, volunteering in the Ukrainian community of NE MPLS, and cooking with loved ones!
