First of all, WOOOHOOOO!!! Thank you for your support and help in bringing in our eighth consecutive “Best of“ Minnesota Bride award! Thanks for all who voted and helped spread the word.
Additionally, our fabulous new website is up and looking great. Check it out at www.chowgirls.net.
Speaking of looking good, take a peek at this gorgeous Style Me Pretty little black book wedding blog post featuring beautiful and tasty Chowgirls treats in our Solar Arts space.
We Boss Ladies have been out and about representing Chowgirls around town. In July, we served Paella on the roof of WCCO with help from our team. We also both pitched in at the Midwest Pantry Local Food Show Top of the Shelf judging event - Amy tasted and scored food while Heidi prepped items for tasting.
On August 6th, Chowgirls hosted a podcast at Solar Arts by Secrets of the City’s Taylor Carik and James Norton from The Heavy Table called The Weekend Starts Now. DJ Shannon Blowtorch, Emily Rheingans, owner of Mon Petit Cheri in Seward, our own Heidi Andermack participated in the shenanigans.
Finally, we're excited to announce that we'll be representing at the Minnesota State Fair (can you believe that we're already talking about this?) as part of the Common Table exhibit. Check us out after you get your whatever-on-a-stick!
Enjoy these summer days!
Heidi and Amy
PS. We thought we'd share some snaps from our recent trips out West. Amy went to Montana for her brother-in-law's wedding and Heidi got some R&R in Colorado.
PPS. We've joined @ChowgirlsKillerKitchen on Instagram under the handle @ChowgirlsCatering, follow us and Solar Arts at @CGSolarArts!
Solar Arts by Chowgirls - Continuing to Refine the Space
Jeff Lohaus is the artist who is bringing a bar to life for our space, including finishing the wood on the top, which is from the original Harley Davidson Factory in Milwaukee. At the same time, we're in the midst of a busy August, including the local podcast Heidi and Amy mentioned by Secrets of the Cityand Heavy Table called The Weekend Starts Now. Then there was the Midwest Pantry Local Food and Gift Show, our first industry trade show, and it represents the kinds of events that we want to host more of. The show connects retailers with the local purveyors and producers that we love, helping them to get their products into stores. If you're looking for something to do later in the month, check out the Fernet Summer Side Show on August 23rd.
The Sideshow is a bartending extravaganza sponsored by the us, along with the Northstar Bartenders Guild, Fulton, Parlour Bar, Glam Doll Donuts and Infinium Spirits. Proceeds benefit the Adam Harness Femur Project.
